Production Supervisor

The Production Supervisor oversees daily manufacturing operations to ensure work assignments are completed safely, accurately, and on time. This role leads a small team across 1st and 2nd shifts, drives production efficiency, and maintains strict adherence to safety, quality, and operational standards. The Production Supervisor actively operates equipment, supports continuous improvement, and uses technical knowledge of galvanizing and chemical-treated coatings to achieve optimal performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a small group of 1st and 2nd shift employees to meet production goals safely, accurately, and on schedule.
• Operate equipment, tools, and machinery to support the manufacturing of highway safety products.
• Maintain efficient production within the department by training, instructing, and directing team members on processes, procedures, and best practices.
• Meet all expectations related to safety, quality, and production, and ensure the team consistently follows these standards.
• Monitor production processes and schedules and adjust them as needed to accomplish manufacturing goals and meet customer demand.
• Complete all required paperwork, logs, and inspections accurately and on time.
• Apply a strong understanding of the galvanizing process and chemical-treated coatings to achieve optimal operating efficiency.
• Ensure all equipment and tanks operate properly at all times, including monitoring acid levels, temperatures, and other critical parameters.
• Interpret and apply product codes and quality requirements for each product, ensuring compliance with specifications.
• Work additional hours as necessary, including occasional weekends, to support proper scheduling and production coverage.
• Identify and solve complex operational problems using advanced technical knowledge and creativity.
• Enforce and model strict adherence to safety procedures and guidelines, including the proper use of protective equipment.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and quality.
• Operate forklifts, cranes, and hand tools safely and efficiently as needed to support production.
• Collaborate with other departments and team members to maintain effective communication and resolve issues quickly.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support overall plant operations and production goals.

Essential Skills

• 5–10+ years of successful operational and supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated experience in production supervision, production management, and performance management.
• Background in galvanizing and/or chemical-treated coatings, with strong process knowledge.
• Ability to identify and solve complex problems using advanced technical knowledge and creativity.
• Knowledge of quality policies, procedures, and standards within a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to operate forklifts, cranes, and hand tools safely and efficiently.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, direct, and develop team members.
• Proven supervisory skills with experience managing production teams across shifts.
• Ability to function as a team member and establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Ability to work independently with strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to clearly convey expectations and feedback.
• Proficient computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office applications.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement in an industrial setting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with continuous improvement initiatives in a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with highway safety products or similar heavy industrial manufacturing.
• Strong attention to detail when monitoring equipment conditions such as acid levels and temperatures.
• Ability to adapt to changing production schedules and priorities.
• Experience working in a heavy industrial, non-climate-controlled environment.
• Capability to train and mentor team members on processes, safety, and quality requirements.

Work Environment

This position operates primarily on 1st shift, with core hours of 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and an expectation to arrive early and stay late as needed to effectively run the shift and support the team. The work takes place in a fast-paced, heavy industrial manufacturing environment that is not climate controlled. You may be required to work in various areas of the plant and handle equipment such as forklifts, cranes, and hand tools. Safety is the highest priority, and you must follow all safety procedures and guidelines at all times. This includes wearing appropriate safety gear such as hearing and eye protection, protective clothing, and steel-toed shoes. The role requires dependable attendance and punctuality to support consistent plant operations and production schedules.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Fort Worth, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $100000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
