The people who live in our social programs are constantly learning how to empower themselves through self-advocating and advocating for their peers; being active in the community; being involved in various agency affiliated groups and events. There is an expectation for employees to administer medication both as needed and on a regular basis, after becoming certified to do so.Location: Westwood, NJHours: Friday - Sunday: 7:00 am - 3:00 pmKey ResponsibilitiesAdhering to policies, procedures and regulationsUsing effective communication skills & time management skillsBeing a member of a highly effective team (Teamwork within the circle of support)Completing mandatory trainings based on the program and position (CPR/First Aid, etc.), as well as applying skillsEnsuring health, wellness and safety by managing crisis situations and providing appropriate supervision of the people we supportDemonstrating a willingness to assist people with ADLsTransporting and escorting people we support on recreational activities, medical appointment, home visits, etc.Building Positive relationshipsMaintaining a therapeutic environment through a variety of methods: Personal Outcome Measures, Person Centered Thinking, Informed Decision MakingEnsuring person centered plans are implementedCompleting documentation to ensure compliance and billingUsing foundational Teaching skills (EMOE, Task analysis, essential skills, supports and modifications, etc.Education & ExperienceA High School Diploma or GED is required; some college is a plusA valid Driver's License with no more than 5 points is requiredWork or life experience with intellectual/developmental disabilities preferredAbility to participate in 2 days of NJS Mandated DDD initial trainings during normal business hours upon hireTuberculosis test required for most positionsNew Jersey State drug test screening is mandatoryBenefits IncludeRetirement Plan with matching contributionsGenerous paid time offTuition reimbursementDiscounts on wireless service, gym memberships, & more!!!YAI is an EEO.
