Technical Support Specialist Position Type: Staff Department: Office of Information Technology Posting Number: 201201749 Full or Part Time: Full Time Tenure/Non-Tenure: Non-Tenure Track Salary Basis: Hourly Responsibilities The Technical Support Assistant will work closely with the UserService Manager. Success in this role requires understanding ofcomputers, computer related software, computer peripherals, andattention to detail. The successful candidate will work withstudents, faculty and staff as required as required to resolveissues with computers. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Install, maintain and configure computers, printers, andsupporting technology. Deploy, install, configure, upgrade, test and support softwareand software images. Obtain and maintain certification and training as required bymanagement, and if necessary by manufacturers to maintain hardwarewarranty. Constantly learn new technologies to enhance campus computingenvironment. Maintain campus computer labs. Respond to computer related issues in a timely and courteousmanner. Other projects and duties as assigned. Qualifications Associates degree in electronic engineering technology, IT, MISor Computer Engineering or equivalent. 1-4 years of experience working on computers. Ability to assess causes of technical problems and findsolutions in computers and peripheral hardware using logicaltroubleshooting methods. Ability to analyze complex problems to determine asolution. Ability to multitask. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communicationskills. Salary Commensurate with experience, qualifications, and university'sresources.
