Account Associate/Social Media Coordinator

Javelin has an exciting opportunity for an Account Associate/Social Media Coordinator to join its Old Town, Alexandria office. It is seeking an ambitious and creative individual with a drive for communications and desire to work at the intersection of national earned media and targeted social media campaigns. Responsibilities Serving as a resident expert on client, competitive environment, and related subjects Maintaining regular client contact, both verbal and written, across a range of accounts Actively pursuing media to secure press results Networking and building relationships with key members of national media Overseeing the development of tactics and the implementation of account strategy Assisting clients in developing a social media strategy that works in tandem with an earned media campaign Collaborating with account teams to ensure earned and social media campaigns are in sync Managing integrated campaigns, social media, and influencer work Developing and managing Javelin Facebook, X, Instagram, and LinkedIn accounts, including regular posting and community engagement Creating graphics, video content, and copy to promote announcements, client projects, and other content, using tools such as Canva or Adobe Tracking social media engagement metrics and providing regular reports on relevant trends Needs BA or BS in communications or a related field 2+ years of public relations, marketing, or related experience Demonstrated success in growing and engaging audiences across various social media platforms Strong portfolio of social content, especially short-form video, long-form LinkedIn posts, and visually engaging campaigns Solid understanding of platform analytics and ability to use data to optimize content and strategy Excellent writing ability Strong media relations skills Existing relationships with members of national print, online, and broadcast media Works independently and well under pressure Experience crafting statements, press releases, and pitches for events and breaking news Wants Experience building media lists and familiarity with Cision #J-18808-Ljbffr Javelin Group
