As our next Accounting, Payroll & Benefits Coordinator, you'll play a critical role in supporting the financial and human resources operations that keep our business running efficiently. From payroll and benefits administration to accounting support, you'll help create a seamless experience for both our staff and our clients.

What You'll Do:

• You'll support a variety of accounting, payroll, benefits, and HR functions while serving as a trusted resource for employees and business operations.
• Process accounts payable activities, including invoice coding, approvals, vendor management, and payment support
• Assist with billing, payment applications, client account research, and account inquiries
• Maintain accounting transactions, supporting documentation, and financial records in accordance with established      procedures
• Support account reconciliations and assist with month-end close activities and recurring accounting processes
• Manage the full payroll process, including new hires, employee changes, terminations, deductions, and payroll reporting
• Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on schedule while maintaining compliance with applicable regulations
• Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollments, status changes, terminations, and open enrollment activities
• Serve as the primary point of contact for employee payroll and benefits questions, providing timely and professional support
• Maintain accurate employee records and ensure confidentiality of payroll, benefits, and HR information
• Coordinate with benefit providers, payroll vendors, and external partners to resolve issues and maintain data integrity
• Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to reconcile payroll and benefits information and support accurate reporting
• Assist with onboarding activities, employee communications, and HR administration
• Support the development and improvement of payroll, benefits, and administrative processes
• Monitor changes in payroll and benefits regulations and help ensure ongoing compliance

What You Bring:

• Experience supporting accounting, payroll, benefits, or HR administration functions
• Strong understanding of payroll processes, employee benefits administration, and accounting fundamentals
• Excellent organizational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and customer service skills with a collaborative approach
• Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
• Analytical problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently when needed

Requirements:

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting, payroll, benefits administration, or a related role
• Experience working with payroll systems and benefit administration processes
• Ability to travel periodically to SMRT office locations and project sites as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification
• Experience working in a professional services, engineering, architecture, or consulting environment
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field
