Sleep Medicine Physician

The Section of Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine with Atrium Health Wake Forest School of Medicine and Brenner Children s Hospital (BCH) is seeking candidates for a full-time faculty position in Pediatric Pulmonology/Pediatric Sleep Medicine. Candidates should be board certified in Pediatrics and board certified or board eligible in Sleep Medicine and Pediatric Pulmonology. Provider maybe required to rotate to satellite clinics.
The section of Pediatric Pulmonology at BCH sees a diverse population with high acuity, including:
Patients with:
- BPD
- chronic ventilation or non-invasive ventilation
- neuromuscular respiratory weakness
- asthma
- cystic fibrosis
- sleep disorders
- interstitial lung disease
- sickle cell lung disease
Pediatric Sleep:
- We currently have 3 sleep providers in our sleep clinic including one pediatric psychiatrist. We have 5 sleep center locations accredited by the AASM Winston-Salem (Charlois Blvd) (5 beds), Lexington Adult (4 Beds),High Point Pediatric (3 beds), High Point Adult (4 beds), and Wilkes (2 Beds), totaling 18 beds.
- There is also a portable unit located on the main campus in Winston-Salem for pediatric inpatients.
- The sites operate with a 2:1 patient to tech ratio in the adult labs. Depending on the patient's age and severity, the pediatric staffing ratio may vary from 1:1 to 2:1.
- We currently utilize Compumedics polysomnographic monitoring and Somnoware reporting software.
Pediatric Pulmonary:
- Our team includes: 5 pediatric pulmonologists, a dedicated CF physician, 1 inpatient/outpatient PNP
- We are an accredited CF center and a member of the TDN with a fully staffed CF team (providers, nurse coordinator, psychologist, RT, social worker, dietician and pharmacist).
- We run multidisciplinary clinics for patients with CF, ventilator-dependence, neuromuscular diseases, Aerodigestive diseases, Sickle Cell Disease, and Pediatric Sleep.
- We perform both inpatient and outpatient bronchoscopy with on-call bronchoscopy technicians (RT s) and have full lung function testing capabilities.
- We work in a multidisciplinary fashion with our adult pulmonary / sleep colleagues, Pediatric ENT section, the NICU, PICU, our pediatric surgeons and pediatric subspecialists.
