We are seeking a full-time Dosimetrist to join a collaborative radiation oncology team. The Dosimetrist is responsible for developing accurate and effective radiation treatment plans under the direction of the Radiation Oncologist and Certified Chief Medical Dosimetrist, with general supervision from a Medical Physicist. The Dosimetrist is responsible for developing accurate and effective radiation treatment plans under the direction of the Radiation Oncologist and Certified Chief Medical Dosimetrist, with general supervision from a Medical Physicist. - Develop radiation treatment plans using 2D and 3D treatment planning techniques.
- Perform intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) planning and other advanced treatment planning as required.
- Calculate radiation dose distributions to ensure accurate and effective treatment delivery.
- Collaborate with Radiation Oncologists, Medical Physicists, and other clinical team members to develop optimal treatment plans.
- Ensure treatment plans comply with physician prescriptions, departmental protocols, and applicable regulatory standards.
- Participate in treatment plan review and quality assurance processes.
- Maintain accurate documentation and treatment planning records.
- Support continuous quality improvement initiatives within the radiation oncology department.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in any field or active registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiation Therapy and a current New York State license.
- Experience:
- Previous experience in a Radiation Therapy department is preferred.
- Certifications/Licensure:
- Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) required.
- Active ARRT registration in Radiation Therapy and current New York State license preferred.
- S trong knowledge of radiation treatment planning principles and dosimetry calculations.
- Proficiency with treatment planning systems and radiation oncology workflows.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Commitment to delivering safe, accurate, and patient-centered care.
