Tasting Room Lead

On the southern edge of the Edwards Plateau, in the heart of Texas Hill Country, Halter Ranch is a new luxury tasting room in Fredericksburg, Texas. Set on 32 oak‑studded acres amidst the Hill Country’s rolling limestone highlands, spring wildflowers, encompassing grasslands, and warm rivers. SEEKING We are seeking a team‑oriented individual who is enthusiastic and passionate about wine and people. Knowledge of the wine and hospitality industry is preferred. Excellent time management skills and the ability to multi‑task are a must! QUALIFICATIONS Must be able to work independently and lead a team. Sales‑oriented and ability to close the sale. Food Handlers and RBS Certificate. Strong knowledge and enthusiasm for wine. A desire to provide the ultimate in hospitality and customer service. Professional appearance and demeanor. Must be able to work weekends, nights, and holidays. Must be 21 years old. Knowledge and experience with Excel. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Serve guests and members and assist Tasting Room staff as needed. Assist the Tasting Room Manager with scheduling personnel shifts. Help recruit and interview tasting room staff. Train and educate Tasting Room staff according to Halter Ranch policies and procedures. Work with the Wine Club Manager on membership enrollment, retention, and wine shipments as needed. Assist with managing inventory. Track supplies including menus, janitorial supplies, non‑alcoholic beverages, etc. Notify the Manager if appliances and/or maintenance items need servicing. Efficiently host and manage walk‑ins and assist with reservations through Tock and Halter Ranch reservations team members. Promote sales and wine club memberships aligned with company goals. Assist with inventory and daily sales report. Assist in achieving goals and budget. Keep designated service stations organized and well‑stocked. Assist with daily tasting room operations including opening and closing procedures, sales using POS system, opening and closing cash drawer duties, processing shipping orders and club sign‑ups, answering telephone/email and responding to messages, scheduling reservations, cleaning and sanitizing work areas, inventory management, stocking wine storage, glass washing and polishing, etc. Assist with set up and execution of winery events. Help manage and/or resolve sensitive or difficult guest situations. Monitor competitor offerings. When needed, assist with wine and supply deliveries, including loading, unloading, moving wine in cases and on pallets, driving delivery vehicles, or moving supplies between locations. Responsible for communicating any opportunities, issues, or concerns to the Manager. ADDITIONAL ROLES May be pulled into alternate roles to fill staffing needs, including, but not limited to: Bussing Host Running Expeditor Pit Boss Breaker Polisher Tour guide, both impromptu and reserved tours Management may assign additional tasks and duties at any point in accordance with business needs. This position may be required to perform other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the business. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time. Must be able to lift 60+ pounds repeatedly. Must be able to effectively stock wine, set up and break down tables, chairs, and utilize a dolly cart, and assist in moving heavy objects.
