Lower Elementary Montessori Co‑Teacher / Montessori‑Trained Assistant Teacher (Ages 6–9) We are seeking a certified Lower Elementary Montessori Guide or a Montessori‑trained Assistant Teacher to join our team as a Co‑Lead Teacher, or a Montessori‑trained Assistant Teacher in our program serving 1st–3rd year students (ages 6–9), in response to the continued growth in our Elementary Program. This role is part of a collaborative co‑teaching model, working closely with a partner Lower Elementary guide. The ideal candidate enjoys working with students to foster independence, intellectual curiosity, and social‑emotional growth, and collaborates effectively with a co‑teacher to support the needs of the whole child. Co‑teaching offers the opportunity to share ideas and responsibilities while providing increased social‑emotional support and more individualized and small‑group lessons, creating a rich and responsive academic environment. Responsibilities Collaborate with a co‑teacher to design, prepare, and maintain an orderly, beautiful Montessori environment that meets the developmental needs of children ages 6–9. Plan and implement individual and small‑group lessons that integrate academics with Practical Life, Grace and Courtesy, and Cosmic Education. Work collaboratively with the co‑teacher to set goals, support student growth, and guide the work of individuals and groups. Present lessons in accordance with Montessori curriculum, pedagogy, and principles. Educate the whole child by applying Montessori philosophy in a joyful, inclusive, and respectful learning environment. Actively observe students to identify interests and developmental readiness, guiding them toward appropriate materials that foster mastery and independence. Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records of student work, progress, and behavioral observations using school‑designated software platforms. Participate in chaperoning off‑site field trips, physical education programs, and Outdoor Classroom experiences during the Spring semester. Represent the school’s mission and values within the school community and to prospective families. Qualifications Certified Lower Elementary Montessori guide or equivalent Montessori training. Infant–Toddler Teacher (EEC Certified) Keystone Montessori School is looking for two EEC certified infant‑toddler teachers (or someone who is working toward their EEC certification with multiple years of experience with this age group) to work Monday‑Friday from 8 am - 4 pm year‑round. The position requires a gentle, loving and kind demeanor, positive redirection techniques, excellent classroom management, assistance with independence, toileting, and supervision during lunch, playground, and rest time. Familiarity with Positive Discipline techniques and ability to form positive relationships with the children in your care, as well as a warm and compassionate personality with a fun sense of humor are important. This position is ideal for someone who is interested in furthering their experience in education and is an entry‑level position for those interested in joining a private Montessori school. Aftercare Assistant Teacher (Beginners' & Children's House) Keystone is seeking assistants in our aftercare programs for both Beginners' (infant‑toddler) and Children’s House (preschool & kindergarten). Service times: Children’s House: 2:30 – 6 pm; Beginners': 3 – 6 pm. The position requires a gentle and kind demeanor, positive redirection techniques, and excellent classroom management. Responsibilities include assisting children gaining independence, overseeing snack, playground, and activity time, and communicating with parents and staff. This role is suitable for individuals who wish to develop experience in a private Montessori school, with opportunity to work short‑term or long‑term. A substitute must demonstrate strong classroom management experience and confidence to direct the classroom in a positive and fun way. They must have a positive attitude and be a team player. Hourly rate range: $18 – $23, depending on certification and experience. Responsibilities Assist children with independence and daily routines. Chaperone snack, playground, and activity periods. Apply positive discipline and maintain classroom safety. Support students in Children’s House (preschool & kindergarten) and Beginners' (infant‑toddler) programs. Assist with learning activities in Montessori settings. Communicate with families and staff. Qualifications EEC Certification – required (IT age group for Beginners', PS age group for Children’s House) or candidate working toward certification with multiple years of experience. Substitute Teacher (Children’s House Classrooms – Preschool through Kindergarten) Starting out as a substitute teacher is a great way to gain experience in the Montessori philosophy, grow as a teacher, and work in a professional environment with staff committed to early childhood education. Hourly rate range: $18 – $23, depending on certification and experience. Responsibilities Manage classroom and facilitate lessons in a professional, engaging manner. Collaborate with faculty and support the needs of each child. Maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment. Support work groups and individualized lesson planning.
