Basic Research is a Salt Lake City-based health and beauty company behind brands including SeroVital and Novex Biotech. Our products are sold direct to consumer, on Amazon, and at major retailers nationwide. We're building a lean, in-house performance team that moves fast, tests constantly, and lets the data decide.

About the Role

We're looking for a Creative Strategist to work hand in hand with our Head of Performance to make more

ads that win, faster. You'll turn Meta performance data into briefs, iterations, and new concepts. You'll work closely with our in-house creative team, agency partners, and Social and Influencer Coordinator to keep the creative testing pipeline full. You'll also help run the day to day in Meta, including uploading ads and reporting on results.

This role is a good fit for someone with a few years of performance creative experience who wants more ownership and a direct line to results. 

What You'll Do

• Write creative briefs for new ads, UGC creators, and video iterations based on performance insights, customer research, and brand priorities.

• Make static and video ads using design, editing, and AI creative tools.

• Work closely with our in-house video editor to turn UGC and existing video into new hooks, formats, lengths, and variations for testing.

• Partner with the Head of Performance and the Social and Influencer Coordinator to update UGC briefs

based on what's working and what isn't.

• Upload and launch new ads in Meta Ads Manager at the Head of Performance's direction, keeping

naming, structure, and tracking clean.

• Build weekly digital performance reports, including creative-level results, fatigue signals, and recommended next tests.

• Brief landing page updates so ads and pages stay aligned on message, offer, and proof.

• Receive and route ad creative from agency partners: review it for performance fit, brand standards, and specs, send it through compliance, and get approved assets live.

• Keep an organized creative library and testing log so learnings build over time.

What You Bring

• 4+ years in creative strategy, performance creative, or paid social at a DTC brand or performance agency.

• Hands-on experience with Meta Ads Manager, including uploading ads, reading creative metrics (hook rate, hold rate, CTR, CAC, ROAS), and turning results into next steps.

• A portfolio of ads you've briefed or made, with context on how they performed.

• Strong brief writing: clear, specific, and easy for editors, creators, and agencies to act on.

• Working skill with creative tools such as CapCut, Canva, Adobe, Figma, or AI image and video tools.

• Strong organization and follow-through across many assets, partners, and deadlines.

• Comfort taking direction on strategy while bringing your own ideas to the table.

Nice to Have

• Experience in supplements, beauty, or wellness, and an understanding of claims guardrails and FTC

and Meta ad policies.

• Experience working with UGC creators or influencer content.

• Familiarity with landing page tools and CRO basics. xhyhwjd

• Experience with CTV or other paid channels beyond Meta.
