Operations & Maintenance TechLocation: Marietta, OHThis position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of all power plant equipment and assist with maintenance tasks assigned. The successful eligible candidate will be awarded a $7,500 signing bonus.Key Accountabilities:Ensure that the powerhouse assets are operated in a safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible mannerParticipate in company safety programs and policies to promote a safe and healthy work environmentPerforms inspections, water analysis, and troubleshooting, to optimized plant performanceMonitoring of operating parameters and recording operating data, including production efficiencies, electrical usage, pressures, temperatures, vibration indications, alarms and other pertinent information related to the safe operation of the power plant equipmentPerform scheduled and un-scheduled plant maintenance to optimize plant availability and improve cost effectivenessOperation and routine maintenance associated with water treatment equipmentThe de-energization (lock-out/tag-out) of all equipment within the scope of responsibility pertaining to the power plant assets that is required to allow the safe performance of maintenance on such equipmentPerform routine (planned maintenance) on all power plant equipment, including predictive, preventive, and minor corrective maintenanceThe recording and documenting of all maintenance activities that are performed on power plant equipmentPerform troubleshooting and correcting problems related to the proper monitoring, control, and operation of power plant equipmentMinimum Education & Experience Requirements:A high school diploma or equivalent is required.Four years of relevant work experience in a central utility plant, power plant, or similar heavy industrial environment is required.A minimum of a 3rd Class State of Ohio Stationary Engineer license is required.Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English and perform basic mathematical calculations is required.Must be available for call outs, scheduled overtime, weekend, and holiday work.Physical Demands & Working Conditions:In order to properly perform the integral functions of this job, the employee is required to:Stand or walk and sit. Frequently the employee is required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or occasionally, crawlTalk or hear; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and constantly reach with hands and armsLift objects of up to 50 pounds in weight. Carry objects of up to 35 pounds in weight. Occasionally the employee will have to push or pull objects 70 pounds in weightVision requirements for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focusThe employee in this classification may be routinely required to work at heights and wear fall protection equipment; may be required to wear respiratory protective or escape/rescue equipment; may be required to wear electrical protective equipment to prevent Arc Flash hazards; and may be required to wear hearing protection and other PPE equipment.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions, including wet and/or humid conditions, and extreme heat and cold.The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to mechanical and electrical hazards. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
