Genesis10 is currently seeking a GIS Mapper for a contract position with a Major Utility Company located in Secaucus, NJ. Pay Rate: $19.40 - $29.40 per hour based on experience. This role focuses on maintaining the Geographic Information System (GIS) model for the electric side of the business. The successful candidate will perform analysis, create custom maps, and process work orders to update the GIS system. This position is open to recent college graduates with relevant academic or internship experience in GIS.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Perform assignments related to recording or producing information associated with the construction, operation, and maintenance of Utility Systems
• Maintain the GIS connected model with information from sources including work management systems, as-built construction drawings, work orders, completion records, and field reports
• Perform analysis or queries to assemble data and prepare reports, tabulations, charts, and maps from asset information
• Produce standard prints and ad-hoc plots for field requests
• Maintain service point data and its relationship to the feeding source transformer
• Track the lifespan of utility asset data, including history, inspection, and attachments
• Resolve conflicting data, mapping, connectivity, and land issues through office or field investigation
• Perform GIS work pertaining to major projects such as facility relocations, load rearrangement, and new business
• Operate automated office equipment, including printers, plotters, and scanners
• Perform manual or computer-aided drafting

Requirements:

• 1-2 years of GIS experience (school or work-related)
• Experience updating, editing, and modifying geospatial data within a map
• Ability to acquire a thorough working knowledge of the company's business applications, materials, and equipment
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license in the state of New Jersey
• Computer skills in MS Office and other Windows applications
• Must be able to work at various client locations based on business needs

Desired Skills:

• Experience with MicroStation or AutoCAD
