As a Speech Language Pathologist in one of the charming communities of Coastal Alabama, you will play a pivotal role in addressing communication and swallowing disorders, guiding individuals toward unlocking their potential, gaining confidence, and fostering meaningful human connections — from playful toddlers mastering new words to elderly clients rediscovering their voices.
This position presents a valuable opportunity to work with diverse populations throughout various life stages in an engaging environment that combines outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient duties. Implement individualized speech therapy sessions emphasizing language, communication, fluency, voice, and swallowing capabilities.
Team up with an array of healthcare professionals, including occupational and physical therapists, nurses, and medical doctors, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care plans.
Provide education to patients and their families to encourage progress and understanding beyond the therapy sessions.
Perform occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions to maintain continuity and quality throughout the therapeutic process.
Ensure precise and timely documentation in alignment with state and federal regulations, as well as organizational standards.
Enhance your skills by staying updated with industry advancements through continuous education and collaboration with peers.
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), if not yet ASHA-certified.
Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be acquired within 30 days of employment.
Thorough knowledge of evidence-based practices for diverse age groups and a solid grasp of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
Exceptional communication skills, enabling effective interaction with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to tailor therapy approaches to accommodate a wide range of cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Strong analytical and clinical judgment, paired with effective problem-solving capabilities.
Familiarity with electronic medical record systems and documentation protocols.
Attractive compensation reflective of your experience and skills.
Flexible work schedules that promote work-life balance and encompass varied caseloads.
Specialization opportunities in pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatrics.
Paid time off (PTO) and holiday pay benefits.
Health benefits including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance choices.
Support for continuing education and professional development.
