Inside Sales Representative - Industrial Products

Palmer Johnson is looking for an Inside Sales Representative – Industrial Products to join our team in Sun Prairie, WI. In this role, you'll work directly with customers to understand their needs, identify the right products and solutions, prepare quotes, process orders, and build long-term customer relationships.

This position is based in Sun Prairie, WI, and will be a hybrid work environment, working remotely from their home office and in-person in Sun Prairie. Candidates must be within a reasonable commuting distance of Sun Prairie, WI.

About the Opportunity

The Industrial Products Sales position is responsible for developing, growing, and maintaining business within the specific products they are assigned. This is accomplished by identifying and providing solutions to customers and working with co-workers to maintain and strengthen our reputation for superior customer service. This position will operate as part of a sales team and have a collaborative approach to ensure the customer comes first. This position will work to build trust and add value with both existing and new accounts by taking a proactive approach, having a high level of technical expertise, making inventory suggestions, and following through. It is essential to be comfortable with asking questions and seeking assistance when needed.

Day-to-day tasks include but are not limited to: assisting both new and existing customers via phone and email with locating parts lists, identifying parts/units, quoting, order processing, purchasing, returns, and damages while working with internal departments (accounting, warehouse, service, etc) and our external vendors. • Do you have 3+ years of inside/outside sales experience ?
• Do you have a passion for working with customers and overseeing projects ?
• Do you have experience in the off-highway industry ? (Familiarity with hydraulic pump drives, industrial PTO’s, speed-reducing and speed-increasing gearboxes a plus)
• Do you have a sales mindset and are goal-oriented?
• Do you have problem-solving and critical thinking skills to provide best-in-class solutions for our customers and business?
• Are you professional in all interactions including emails, phone, and in-person?
• Are you able to learn new systems, have above-average computer proficiency, and are confident working within multiple programs? (Salesforce and/or P21 experience is a plus.)
• Are you able to multi-task , work with a sense of urgency, request help when needed, and be a self-starter?
• Do you have a valid driver's license?
• Are you comfortable and willing to travel up to 10% for customer visits, trade shows, etc?
