Our organization is seeking an Occupational Therapist (Acute Care) to become a valuable member of our team at a local hospital. This role involves delivering comprehensive occupational therapy services to patients, which encompasses screening, evaluation, treatment planning, implementation, reassessment, re-evaluation, discharge planning, and thorough documentation.
The Occupational Therapist will also engage in program planning and protocol development as needed, contributing to the team's efforts in achieving set objectives. Key Responsibilities- Conduct evaluation services, including reviewing relevant historical data, performing specific assessments, and formulating recommendations while documenting results.
- Communicate evaluation outcomes and treatment plans to patients and their families, involving them in the goal-setting process.
- Exhibit expertise in executing treatment protocols based on evaluation results, patient presentation, and the dynamic healthcare landscape.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals as necessary and recognize changes in patient conditions that may require adjustments to the care plan or additional consultations.
- Complete discharge planning and follow-up care effectively, ensuring accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities, including initial evaluations, daily notes, progress summaries, and discharge evaluations.
- Demonstrate strong time management skills and meet productivity standards while maintaining an organized schedule.
- Show a professional commitment to facilitating seamless patient access to care through flexibility, adaptability, creativity, and empathetic behavior in a patient-centered environment.
- Proactively pursue continuing education for personal and organizational growth, serving as a clinical instructor for students and assisting in the orientation and mentoring of new staff, students, volunteers, and technicians.
- A Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
- Licensure in Maryland, the District of Columbia, and/or Virginia as required for your specific location.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
This position offers a salary range of USD $74,214.00 to USD $134,596.00 per year.
