Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a high acuity respiratory care stepdown unit requiring trauma and neuro critical care background with ventilator management experience.
Details

High acuity Respiratory Care stepdown ICU setting
13-week assignment on day shift, 3x12 hours (7:00-19:30)
Every other weekend required
Floating required as needed
Holiday coverage required as needed, including 2 of 3 major holidays (eve and day)
Patient ratio of 3:1, with a maximum of 4:1 depending on staffing
No block scheduling requests accommodated
Travel pairs will not be considered
Uses Epic EMR
Requirements

Active FL or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
Current BLS and ACLS certification via AHA
NIH Stroke Scale certification required in hand at time of consideration
Minimum 3 years recent critical care experience with acute/chronically ill patients requiring ventilator support
Trauma and neuro critical care experience required
Degree required from an accredited school, or from an FBON-approved institution combined with 2 years of recent, consecutive acute care experience within a US hospital in the past 24 months
Candidates from Operation Nightingale Schools not accepted
Epic EMR experience required
Charge RN, SICU, MICU, trauma, stroke, and Cerner experience preferred
Additional Information

Provide critical care nursing to high acuity respiratory and ventilator-dependent patients in a stepdown ICU setting
Smoke-free facility
Must pass a basic arrhythmia/EKG competency assessment, with a retake required within 24 hours if not passed with 100% on lethal rhythms and 83% or higher overall if needed
Locals within a 60-mile radius will be considered at a lower rate than travel candidates
Former Broward Health permanent employees must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
Proof of vaccination status required with no declinations accepted
