Back Billing Specialist Accounting Detroit , MI Contract Jul 30, 2026 Job Type: Temporary (3-6 Months) Location: Detroit, MI Work Schedule: Fully Onsite Hours: Monday - Friday | 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM Compensation: $30-$32/hour Sanford Rose is seeking a Temporary Legal Billing Specialist for a well-established professional services organization in the Detroit area. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced billing professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while partnering closely with attorneys and internal stakeholders. You\'ll play a key role supporting the full billing cycle, electronic billing, and client invoicing for a collaborative accounting team during an important period of growth and operational support. Responsibilities: Manage the complete billing cycle for assigned accounts and internal stakeholders Review, edit, and finalize pre-bills and client invoices Process electronic billing submissions through multiple billing platforms Monitor billing activity and resolve invoice discrepancies or rejections Maintain billing guidelines and client billing records Prepare billing reports, aging information, and other reporting as requested Work closely with internal teams to resolve billing questions and support timely invoicing Assist with additional billing projects and process improvements as needed Qualifications: 2-3+ years of legal billing experience preferred OR 5+ years of billing experience within another professional services environment Experience with electronic billing platforms and high-volume billing processes Experience with legal billing software such as Aderant, Elite 3E, BillBlast, or similar systems is strongly preferred Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills Advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred Ability to communicate professionally with internal stakeholders and clients Bachelor\'s degree preferred or equivalent relevant experience At Sanford Rose Associates - JFSPartners, we specialize in Finance & Accounting, Legal, and Information Technology recruitment, dedicated to helping professionals like you discover the perfect career opportunities.
