Description:
Position available for a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse.
Candidates must meet the minimum requirement of 2 years of experience.
First-time travelers are accepted for this position.
Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, NRP, and FHM.
Traveling nurses will be required to float as needed.
Local candidates will not be accepted for this position.
Pending licenses will not be accepted.
Nurses must work 2 out of 3 major holidays.
Guaranteed hours include a minimum of 36 hours in a workweek for three 12-hour shifts.
Special requirements for the position include the management of labor, inductions, and scheduled and unscheduled C-sections.
Candidates should be familiar with various patient diagnoses such as hypertension, preeclampsia, and antepartum patients.
Nurses will also be responsible for triaging patients and utilizing specialized equipment such as epidural pumps, IV pumps, and monitoring systems.
The staffing guidelines suggest a patient ratio of 1:1 for active labor, 1:2 for patients not in active labor, and may adapt ratios based on unit demands.
There are additional responsibilities related to patient care in high-risk obstetric situations.
In this role, effective communication and collaboration with the healthcare team are essential.
All certifications must be in hand prior to the start of the assignment.
Candidates are expected to display proficiency in patient assessments, interventions, and education.
