Principal Associate, Third Party Risk Management

Overview Capital One is seeking an energetic, self‑motivated Principal Associate to join the Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) Team within the Operational Risk Management second line of defense. The TPRM team is a dedicated group of professionals whose mission is to provide value‑add, independent stewardship of Capital One’s third party management practices, enabling Capital One to manage its Third Party Risk. Duties and Responsibilities Develop and leverage key relationships with stakeholders that enable collaboration across the enterprise Support collaborative environments between other risk teams and various partner groups to create an integrated and seamless risk experience for the business Complete the Assessments and Testing Program to effectively challenge, identify elevated areas of risk, and obtain assurance that risk‑taking groups are appropriately representing the risk profile Ensure results are properly documented and communicated, and perform data analysis to include trending, problem identification, and development/completion of remediation plans Identify and track challenges and issues to mitigate risk to Capital One, coordinating with applicable business areas to define or implement remediation activities Demonstrate strong communication, collaboration, and problem‑solving skills within the team and with other partners Coordinate work between multiple areas and handle multiple projects simultaneously, leveraging or influencing business partners to drive results Balance multiple priorities to help drive business value and support team objectives, while managing tasks and activities related to risk management initiatives in a well‑managed capacity Basic Qualifications Bachelors Degree or military experience At least 3 years of experience in Risk Management, Compliance, Procurement, Contracting, or Audit At least 3 years of experience working with internal business clients Preferred Qualifications Masters Degree in Finance, Accounting, Audit, or Business Management Experience in a third‑party risk management role Industry certifications in Operational Risk Management or Third Party Risk Management Excellent written and verbal communication abilities Benefits and Compensation Capital One offers a comprehensive, competitive, and inclusive set of health, financial and other benefits that support your total well‑being. This role is eligible to earn performance‑based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long‑term incentives (LTI). Salary ranges vary by location: McLean, VA: $120,800 – $137,900; Richmond, VA: $109,900 – $125,400; Riverwoods, IL: $109,900 – $125,400. Candidates hired in other locations will receive the pay range associated with that location.
