Account Executive (Rockville)

Defense Daily is a leading intelligence source for defense decision-makers, and Via Satellite is a leading voice in satellite and space. We’re hiring an Account Executive to grow business across both brands: group subscriptions, advertising, and sponsorship. This is a high-activity, prospecting-driven seller role. You’ll work inbound leads, prospect new accounts, renew existing advertising and sponsorship clients, and build relationships with defense contractors, aerospace and space companies, and the technology and service providers that sell to them.
What you’ll do
- Win new group and enterprise subscriptions to Defense Daily, with subscription renewals handled by a dedicated in-house team
- Sell advertising, sponsored content, webinars, and lead generation across Defense Daily and Via Satellite
- Grow and retain advertising and sponsorship accounts across both brands
- Work inbound leads and prospect new accounts by phone, email, and LinkedIn with support from our sales enablement team, converting them quickly
- Sell into multi-stakeholder buying groups, including marketing, business development, procurement, training, and HR
- Work with the Publisher on account strategy and the event calendar, with travel to industry shows and client meetings
- Partner with editorial, marketing, and sales enablement on campaigns that support your pipeline
- Keep Salesforce accurate and current
What we’re looking for
- 3-5 years of B2B sales experience, ideally in media, data, research, or information services
- Comfortable with a high volume of calls and a mix of inbound and outbound selling
- Track record closing recurring-revenue deals (subscriptions, data, or research products) or advertising and sponsorship, ideally both
- Strong Salesforce proficiency
- Able to build credibility with senior professionals and negotiate pricing and terms
- Willing to travel 8+/year for trade shows and client meetings

Nice to have
- Experience selling group or enterprise subscriptions, or data, research, or intelligence products
- Familiarity with aerospace, defense, or government contracting
What we offer
$65,000 base salary, $85,000 OTE, plus uncapped commission. Direct mentorship from the Publisher and a seat at the center of two growing brands.
