RN Night Supervisor

As the RN Night Supervisor, you will play a key leadership role in maintaining patient safety, supporting nursing staff, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality behavioral health care during off-shift hours. This position requires strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead with calm authority.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership, supervision, and support for nursing services during evening/night shifts
• Ensure appropriate staffing levels to meet patient care needs
• Serve as a role model, resource, and mentor for nursing staff
• Communicate and document clinical and administrative activities accurately
• Ensure patient and staff safety at all times
• Step into Charge Nurse responsibilities when needed
• Act as the administrative representative during off-shift hours
• Assist with additional duties as assigned

Qualifications Position Requirements

• Licensure / Certification / Registration Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the Commonwealth of Virginia
• CPR certification preferred (available on-site)
• Handle With Care certification preferred (available on-site)
• Education & Experience BSN preferred Minimum of 5 years of nursing management experience preferred
• Working knowledge of Joint Commission, OSHA, and relevant state and federal healthcare regulations
• General Requirements Must be at least 21 years of age (per Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Services)
• Displays patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm
• Strong communication skills; must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
• Basic clerical abilities and familiarity with standard office equipment (telephone, copier, fax, etc.)
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
• Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and accept constructive feedback
• Willingness to interact professionally with patients with varying levels of cognitive functioning
