Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description

A client of Insight Global is seeking experienced Manufacturing Engineers / Industrial Engineers to support the production of advanced electro-optical systems for U.S. defense programs. This role will be assigned to a specific program and work directly alongside a senior Manufacturing Engineer to support process engineering, manufacturing execution, and continuous improvement initiatives within a low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing or industrial engineering, experience creating and maintaining manufacturing documentation, and the ability to drive process improvements in a complex production setting. Candidates with experience in aerospace, defense, medical device manufacturing, or other highly regulated industries are strongly encouraged to apply.

Skills and Requirements

3-5+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience

Experience supporting process improvement initiatives and manufacturing operations.

Background working in a low-volume, high-mix production environment.

Experience creating and maintaining:

Manufacturing routers

Work instructions

Process documentation

Understanding of manufacturing processes, production flow, and continuous improvement methodologies.

Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.

Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Bachelor's degree in:

Industrial Engineering

Manufacturing Engineering

Mechanical Engineering

Systems Engineering

Related engineering discipline

Aerospace, Defense, Medical Device, or other regulated manufacturing experience.

Experience supporting the production of electro-optical products or precision assemblies.

Background in Quality Engineering (QE).

Experience participating in MRRs and PRRs.

Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience.
