Associate Renewable Energy Design Engineer

We are seeking an Associate Renewable Energy Design Engineer to join our growing renewable energy advisory team across across the UK. This is a key role supporting the expansion of our Independent Engineering (IE), Owner’s Engineering (OE), and Technical Advisory (TA) services, working with a diverse portfolio of solar PV, wind, and energy storage projects.You will join a dynamic and ambitious team, with a strong pipeline of early-stage project work and significant opportunities to shape and grow our service offering. This role is ideal for someone looking to step into a client-facing, leadership-oriented position within a collaborative and developing team environment.ABOUT THE ROLEYou will lead and deliver FEED, IE, OE, and TA assignments across the full project lifecycle from concept and design through to construction, financing, and acquisition.Key responsibilities include:Managing project delivery for project finance, tax equity, sales, and acquisition mandatesReviewing technical and commercial documentation including contracts, schedules, and financial models (CAPEX/OPEX)Conducting site visits, construction monitoring, and witness testingManaging risks, schedules, deliverables, and documentation across multiple projectsProducing high-quality technical advisory reports in accordance with industry standards and outlining risks and recommendationsSupporting clients with contract administration, variations, and claimsLeading client and stakeholder meetings with developers, lenders, EPCs, investors and internal teamsLead Pre-FEED and FEED design teams for wind, solar and BESS projects.Lead Owners Engineering service deliveryUse your existing network to provide Business Development support for StantecYOUR IMPACTIn this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the successful delivery of complex renewable energy projects by:Providing technical leadership and quality assurance across internal project teamsIdentifying and mitigating key technical and commercial risksActing as a trusted advisor to clients across design, procurement, and construction phasesSupporting financial close by delivering robust technical due diligenceStrengthening client relationships and contributing to repeat businessMentoring junior team members and helping build technical capability within a growing, relatively early-stage teamABOUT YOUYou are a motivated and commercially aware professional with experience in renewable energy project delivery or advisory.We are looking for:Sufficient experience in renewable energy (IE/OE/TA, development, construction, O&M, or M&A)Experience supporting projects through financial close with lenders or investorsStrong understanding of project delivery, contracts, and risk managementDegree or equivalent experience in electrical engineering, civil engineering, construction management, or a related fieldExcellent communication and client-facing skillsAbility to manage multiple complex projects independentlyA proactive, organised, and solution-oriented mindsetWHY JOIN USWe put people first: We're proud of our friendly, inclusive and collaborative environment where everyone feels valued and driven to succeed.We are driven to achieve: Named in the top 50 companies to work for by Glassdoor 2025.
