Safety Manager [AS-14941]

A leading environmental services and infrastructure company is looking to add a Safety Manager to support operations across New Jersey, based in the Paramus, NJ area. This role will focus on strengthening health, safety, and security practices across multiple operational sites while building a strong, proactive safety culture. This person will be tasked with providing senior-level leadership, driving compliance, and reducing risk in complex, regulated environments. It’s a strong opportunity for an experienced safety leader to influence strategy while remaining closely connected to field operations.

The Role

• Lead and evolve division-wide health, safety, and security programs to improve safety culture, compliance, and behavioral performance across multiple facilities.
• Serve as the senior HSS authority for the New Jersey division, partnering closely with operations and leadership to assess risk, implement preventative strategies, and support ongoing and new initiatives.
• Manage and mentor a safety professional while overseeing training programs, audits, inspections, and field coaching efforts.
• Direct incident investigations, injury case management, and workers’ compensation activities, ensuring strong root-cause analysis and executive-level reporting.
• Analyze safety data and trends to develop predictive insights, guide decision-making, and reduce incidents across diverse operational environments.

The Candidate

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline, with 5+ years of experience in health, safety, and security compliance.
• Background in construction, industrial, utility, or similar high-risk operational environments with strong regulatory exposure.
• Demonstrated ability to lead safety strategy while remaining hands-on in the field with crews and site leadership.
• Strong communicator and coach, comfortable influencing at all levels of an organization and managing competing priorities.
• Professional safety certifications (CSP, CHMM, OSHA instructor credentials) are preferred, along with the ability to be on-call and travel regularly within the region.
