RESEARCH ADVANCEMENT ADMINISTRATOR

Job Description: The School for Engineering of Matter, Transport and Energy (SEMTE) is seeking a Research Advancement Administrator (Pre-Award) to join our Research Advancement Team. Position Salary Range: $52,000 - $59,000 per year; DOE Provides administrative guidance during pre-submission, development, and administrative review. Independently reviews funding announcements and provides guidance on eligibility and sponsor requirements to investigators. Works with ASU's Proposal Negotiation Team and sponsors as needed for clarification of application guidelines. Develops budgets and budget narratives in conjunction with investigator provided information and sponsor guidelines. Provides support in document management and in the uploading of grant and contract proposals to federal, state, and other funding agencies. (i.e., current and pending support, biosketches, etc.) Verifies and ensures ongoing compliance with all applicable regulatory and financial compliance requirements. Assists with post submission action items requested by the sponsor such as just-in-time requests, revised budgets, scope of work changes, and additional certifications. Desired Qualifications: Experience in pre-award sponsored research administration within a higher education or research environment. Experience developing proposal budgets and justifications for federal, state, industry, or foundation sponsors; or demonstrated knowledge of budgetary principles, practices, and procedures. Experience interpreting funding opportunity announcements and coordinating proposal submissions. Knowledge of federal regulations, Uniform Guidance (2CFR 200), and sponsor guidelines. Strong experience in Excel and web-based tools. Ability to take initiative, be diplomatic, and effectively manage stressful situations while multi-tasking and meeting deadlines effectively through organization and time management. Evidence of effective communication skills, and an analytical mindset. Department Statement: At the Ira A.
