Job Description
Title: Registered Nurse - Obstetrics

Schedule: Shift: 1700 - 0530

Assignment Details:
- Contract Weeks: 13
- Guaranteed Hours: 36

Requirements:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) License in the state or approved compact state licensure.
- Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring required upon hire.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required upon hire or within one year of employment.
- Minimum of one (1) year of previous experience in obstetric nursing.

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive care to obstetric patients, including laboring mothers, postpartum recovery, and newborns.
- Assist with labor and delivery including fetal monitoring, medication administration, and patient education.
- Monitor maternal and fetal well-being, recognizing and responding to complications.
- Educate patients and families on postpartum care, breastfeeding, and newborn health.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective care.
- Assess, plan, and implement nursing care for patients with medical and surgical conditions.

Compliance / Notes:
- Supports and implements specific procedures and programs for safety, infection control, and quality assurance.
- Maintain good physical, emotional, and mental health.
- Orients and mentors new staff.
