State Street Chicago, Illinois 60601 Web: Company Profile Postal Code: Job Category: Television, Media Business Positions Employment Type: Full time Posted: 04.28.2026 WLS Broadcast IT Specialist WLS-TV’s (ABC 7 Chicago) Broadcast IT Specialist located in Chicago, Illinois, will perform an integral role implementing, maintaining, and supporting all departments and day‑to‑day operations in the facility required to deliver our product to viewers on multiple platforms. Responsibilities Collaborate with the technology team on maintenance and integration of new technologies with existing infrastructure while ensuring compliance with company standards, security policies, and regulations. Troubleshoot and remediate complex systems in fast‑paced, time‑sensitive live production and broadcast operations, analyze root causes, and implement corrective action to prevent recurrence. Write and collaborate on technical documentation and standard operating procedures for both technical and non‑technical audiences. Interact with end users in News, Programming, Production, and Creative Services, providing direction and training when issues arise during day‑to‑day operations. Plan and execute technical requirements for local and remote special events. Perform other duties as directed by the Technology Department. WLS-TV is a 24/7/365 broadcast facility; non‑regular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, will be required. Job Requirements Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent years of experience. 3 years of experience in Broadcast IT systems. Effective communication with members of the Technology team and cross‑organizational communication at all levels. Strong knowledge and experience with Active Directory, Apple, Linux, and Microsoft desktop/server environments, TCP/IP, Cisco networking, firewall, server virtualization, and SAN infrastructure. Extensive experience supporting a broad range of technology such as mobile devices, laptops, desktops, and enterprise‑class servers. Preferred Qualifications Highly organized and capable of monitoring and responding to high volumes of various forms of electronic communication. Proficiency with one or more scripting languages such as VB/.BAT/PowerShell and experience with MS SQL database management. Familiarity with application packaging and deployment using Microsoft SCCM or similar tools. Compensation: $95,500 to $128,000 per year plus bonus and long‑term incentives may be provided.
