Functional Systems Engineer Hybrid working – Bristol basedThe OpportunityWe’re working with a leading defence organisation that is looking for an experienced V&V Systems Engineer to join their growing Systems Engineering team.The role will support the continued development and certification of the Land Ceptor Weapon System, working across UK and Polish programmes and contributing to the successful delivery of complex defence capability to customers.The RoleAs the Functional Systems Engineer, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary certification team, assessing technical evidence against defined requirements and supporting the development of the documentation required to demonstrate compliance.You’ll be involved throughout the verification and certification lifecycle, working closely with Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, Software and other engineering teams to identify verification gaps, assess evidence and support the successful certification of the weapon system.A key part of the position will be reviewing technical documentation, supporting design verification activities and ensuring that appropriate evidence is available to demonstrate compliance with requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the certification team with the capture, review and assessment of technical evidence Conduct technical investigations and support the delivery of Certificates of Design Review technical documentation and supporting evidence in relation to functional requirements Review and agree Design Verification Plans (DVPs) Lead and support design reconciliation activities associated with design changes and obsolescence Identify verification gaps and track issues through to resolution Support corrective actions where verification or compliance issues are identified Prepare and review compliance documentation, verification reports and certification evidence Analyse verification evidence and assess compliance against defined requirements Work collaboratively across a multidisciplinary engineering environment, including Systems, Mechanical, Electrical and Software teams Contribute to improvements in V&V and certification processes through more efficient ways of working and automation Support the wider engineering team throughout the development and certification lifecycle What we're looking forWe’re keen to speak with engineers who have experience in systems engineering, verification & validation, requirements management or product certification within a complex engineering environment.You’ll ideally bring:Experience using IBM Rational DOORS Classic Proven experience analysing technical evidence and assessing compliance against requirements A strong understanding of Verification & Validation processes and methodologies Experience producing or reviewing compliance documentation and certification evidence Experience working with requirements management and traceability Strong analytical and problem-solving skills The ability to identify verification gaps and support appropriate corrective actions Experience working within structured engineering development and certification processes Confidence working across multidisciplinary engineering teams Strong technical documentation and communication skills Experience within defence, aerospace or another highly regulated engineering environment would be highly advantageous.Security RequirementsDue to the nature of the work, applicants will need to be British Citizens or Dual UK Nationals who hold British citizenship.Contact Georgia at Copello on 07425490685 or View email address on us.fitly.work
