The Senior Commercial Lending Assistant is a subject matter expert responsible for managing the most complex client relationships (annual revenue $1 million$25 million, credit needs under $10 million), mentoring junior staff, and actively participating in updating team policies and procedures. This role operates with full autonomy and collaborates with leadership to drive process excellence.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Documentation & Process Management:

• Manage documentation and processing for the most complex and high-value loan requests.
• Oversee all aspects of application input, package development, and transmittals.
• Direct and coordinate orders for title, appraisals, and related services for strategic clients.
• Lead all activities through the request for documents stage for assigned relationships.
• Coordinate closing and funding, including setting closing dates and managing logistics.

Leadership, Mentorship & Policy Development:

• Mentor, train, and provide guidance to junior and senior lending assistants.
• Participate in the review and update of team policies and procedures as requested by leadership.
• Serve as a liaison between lenders, clients, and internal departments.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance.
• Represent the team in meetings and special projects.

Communication & Compliance:

• Ensure all denial communications are handled in accordance with policy and regulation.
• Maintain expert-level knowledge of commercial lending processes and regulatory requirements.
• Compliance with any and all BSA/AML/CFT and Sanctions requirements set forth by Bank Policy and Procedure, including but not limited to timely completion of assigned training.

The position performs duties specific to the position and other functions as assigned by management.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position is not responsible for the supervision of staff.

Environment And Physical Activity

The incumbent is in a non-confined office setting in which they are free to move about at will. In the course of performing the duties and responsibilities of this position spends time writing, speaking, listening, lifting (up to 25 pounds), sitting, typing on a computer keyboard, and standing, kneeling and reaching.

The incumbent for this position may operate any or all of the following: telephone, copy and fax machine, adding machine, computer and related printers.

Minimum Requirements

These specifications are guidelines based on the minimum experience required to perform the essential functions of the job. Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines:

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or certification preferred.
• 6+ years of experience in commercial lending, banking, or financial services.
• Demonstrated expertise in commercial loan processing and documentation.
• Experience managing complex client relationships within the specified segment.
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and team development skills.
