Senior Tax Accountant

Senior Tax AccountantOxford Solutions is working with a small tax and accounting office seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to support an established book of business. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity for a hands-on tax professional who is comfortable working directly with clients, managing complex tax work, and helping keep day-to-day tax operations moving efficiently.This role is a strong fit for someone with public accounting tax experience who enjoys a smaller office environment, has strong technical tax knowledge, and can take ownership of both client service and workflow management.Responsibilities:Prepare and review complex individual, partnership, S corporation, and corporate tax returnsCommunicate directly with clients to gather information, answer questions, and provide tax guidanceSupport an existing book of business with a focus on accuracy, responsiveness, and client serviceResearch and resolve federal and state tax matters, including IRS and state tax agency noticesAssist with tax planning, compliance, and issue resolution for individuals and businessesManage workflow during tax season and help ensure deadlines are metReview client documents and identify potential tax concerns, missing information, or planning opportunitiesServe as a technical tax resource for the office and support overall tax operationsQualifications:6 to 15+ years of public accounting tax experienceCPA and/or EA designation preferredStrong experience with individual, partnership, S corporation, and corporate taxationExperience working with IRS and state tax matters, notices, and correspondenceAbility to prepare and manage complex tax returns with limited oversightComfortable communicating directly with clients in a professional and consultative mannerStrong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlinesExperience working in a small tax preparation or public accounting office environment preferred
