About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years of med surg experience required, must have stepdown/PCU experience License: Valid state license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Comfortable floating frequently between MedSurg and Step Down units - Must reside more than 50 miles from facility - No license or background hits - Travel experience preferred Description: This position involves providing nursing care in a MedSurg role, frequently floating to Step Down and MedSurg/Telemetry units. Must be comfortable providing care in both settings. Patient ratios are as follows: Step Down 1:4-5 and MedSurg 1:5-6. Candidates should have 2 years of med surg experience and must be specially trained for step down/PCU. Willingness to float as necessary is essential. Standard procedures include IV start, oxygen administration, and telemetry management. The patient demographic includes adults and geriatrics with varied diagnoses, including post-operative care and chronic conditions. Candidates will be part of an interdisciplinary support team, including physical therapy and respiratory services. Expect to work holidays and weekends in rotation with staff. This facility has high patient care ratios and floating policies align with current standards. References may be required during compliance. Candidates must complete all pre-start modules prior to the assignment. Modules will be averaged to 8 hours before the start of the assignment.
