We also offer multiple team member engagement activities and community events.\n\nFitter/Welder \n\n\nFarr West, UT\n\nJob Summary:\n\n\nWill read blueprints, fit and/or oversee fitting, expedite parts, weld and/or oversee welding. Take ownership of job to meet customer and schedule requirements.\n\nEssential Functions:\n\n\n Read blueprints\n Be able to supervise a crew and complete a job from start to finish without direct supervision\n Expedite all parts throughout the plant as necessary to meet production goals\n Solve all obstacles related to the job he/she is running\n Take ownership for meeting customer and schedule requirements\n Be a living example of our principles of unity, trust, honesty, integrity, creativity, and self-reliance\n\n\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\n\n\n Must be able to make all welds uniform and clean, and complete work to customer's specifications\n Pass Blueprint test:\n \n Read all weld symbols on a blueprint\n Differentiate between channel, angle, flat bar, square tube, pipe etc.\n \n Pass basic plate weld test (visual and bend) within specified time requirements, in four out of the five weld processes used at Petersen Inc:\n \n F.C.A.W. - Stainless and mild steel: 3G, and 6G position\n G.M.A.W. - Mild steel: 3G position\n G.T.A.W. - Stainless and aluminum: 3G, and 6G position\n S.A.W. - Sub arc: 1G position is a plus but no required\n \n Must know how to calculate Arc length and circumference\n Know how to calculate Bolt Circles, Chord Length, and Flat Pattern\n Must be able to work well in a team environment\n Able to listen well, understand concerns, and gain cooperation to solve problems quickly and effectively.\n Must be efficient and productive with time\n Must maintain an acceptable attendance and safety record\n Maintain safe environment.\n\nMinimum Requirements:\n\n\nHigh School education or GED preferred. 1-2 years of shop or field welding.\n\n\nMust be able to understand implicit and explicit instructions and react favorably in all work situations. Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflicts, and make effective decisions under pressure. Ability to do math calculations, especially trigonometry.\n\nEssential Physical Functions:\n\n\nRequires lifting, stooping, bending and stretching to accomplish grinding, welding and other assigned duties. Requires ability to work at different heights. Requires correctable vision to within normal range to perform clean and uniform welds and read blueprints. Requires standing, bending and stooping for extended periods of time.\n\nSafety Requirements:\n\n\n Must not pose a direct threat or significant risk of substantial harm to the safety or health of himself/herself or others\n Must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws and all the employer's safety policies and rules and must be willing to report safety violations and potential safety violations to appropriate supervisory or management personnel.\n\nEquipment Used (but not limited to):\n\n\nWelder, Grinder, Gouge, Drills, Tools.\n\nTravel:\n\n\nMust be available and willing to travel as the employer determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.\n\nWorking Conditions:\n\n\nWorks in a typical fabrication shop environment. Occasionally called upon to work overtime. Working conditions may vary according to weather.
