Residential Manager

Job TitleOversee the day-to-day operation of residential facilityOn call 24-hours seven days a week and must conduct random (overnight) spot checks and required to work one day on a weekend per monthProvide complete 24-hour coverage, maintain and post scheduled work assignments/shift schedules and adjust such assignments based on staff availability, abilities of staff and particular requirements of residentsConduct frequent walk through of designated residence to ensure it is kept clean, neat, healthy and safeSupervise the maintenance, cleaning and proper functioning of the residence, furnishings, and appliance and obtain repairs/replacements as neededParticipate as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team in the development and evaluation of each resident individualized plan of careReview all plans and summaries and make sure LOCs (levels of Care) Res Habs and POP are up to dateReview daily logs make sure plans of protective oversight are updated annually and posted in residenceWeekly review meeting of medication inventory with medical assistant and nurseShop for participants (clothing, personal items, adaptive and habilitation equipment, etc.) and oversee inventory of household supplies and food itemsMaintain and account for each resident's personal allowance, bankbook, deposits, withdrawals, and fiscal recordsDispense and account for weekly petty cashRecommend the hiring and termination of all assistants, direct care and housekeeping staff with appropriate documentationTrain, supervise, and evaluate all assistants, direct care and housekeeping staffOversee the actions conducted by staff to ensure that they are in a manner that prevents abuseAssures that all staff are coordinating their efforts in order to complete such routine household tasks as laundry, menu preparation, shopping, cooking, etc. with goal of increasing independence of residents in performing these functionsSupervise DSPs implementation and maintenance of training programmingSchedule staff and provides/arranges transportation of residents to and from appointments, recreational or social programs, work, etc. as requiredCommunicate staff performance, specific deficiencies to Residential Director and Human ResourcesFollow appropriate procedure relative to the reporting of incidents as per OPWDD 624 regulations and summon police, fire, ambulance or other emergency personnel if situation warrants it.Review, approve, and submit timesheets of all staff for designated residenceConduct, observe, and maintain records of fire drills, evacuations and ensure certificate of fitness is in residence.Provide orientation/in-service of all staff and ensure that staff receive required trainings and updatesConducts monthly staff meetings with all staff or as neededKeep track of van registrations and inspections and ensure they are operated safely and properly maintainedMust be able to perform SCIP-R physical intervention techniques (i.e., core techniques; specialized and restrictive)Other related tasks that may be assignedPosition RequirementsQualifications/Requirements1. Excellent written & oral communication skills2. Ability to interface with multi-level, multi ethnic personnel3. Well organized, capable of coordinating a variety of assignments and responsibilities4. Computer Literate5. Valid driver's licenseEducation1. Bachelor's degree in human or social services or two (2) years of experience working with MR/DD individuals preferred2. Or Associates Degree plus 3 years direct service experience in the Human or Social Services fieldTraining/Certification1. SCIP-R2. CPR/First Aid3. AMAP
