Material Lab Technician

Metal Lab Technician - Hiring Now!Do you enjoy a fast-paced work environment where technology and equipment are continuously evolving? If so, Carley Foundry is looking for a Metal Lab Technician to join our team. We offer top pay, outstanding benefits, and the opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.Pay: $23.00-$26.00 per hour, based on experienceHours: We have two shifts, training conducted on 1st shift:

• 1st Shift : 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM
• 2nd Shift : 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM, plus a $1.00/hour shift differential

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Certificate or vocational education preferred
• Proficient computer skills
• Experience in quality control preferred
• Ability to work in a foundry manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

• Verify aluminum and steel properties using a spectrometer, tensile tester, and conductivity tester
• Operate a lathe to prepare smooth test surfaces
• Perform routine maintenance and calibration of testing equipment
• Accurately record test results and maintain reports, logs, and sample storage
• Process castings approved for rework
• Perform testing on dry and green sand samples
• Prepare and process metallurgical samples for review by a degreed metallurgist or equivalent
• Collaborate with production and other departments to ensure timely movement of products through the lab
• Maintain the highest quality standards to ensure only premium products are delivered to our customers
