Newport Beach, CA | Full-Time | On-Site (Hybrid/Flexible)
A well-established and highly respected full-service law firm in Newport Beach is seeking a California-licensed Labor & Employment Associate Attorney (2–8 years’ experience) to join its growing and sophisticated employment practice.
This group represents a diverse range of employers across California and nationally, handling the full spectrum of employment law matters—from day-to-day counseling and pre-litigation strategy to complex litigation in state and federal courts.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you’ll take ownership of meaningful, hands-on employment matters, including:
- Representing employers in disputes involving harassment, discrimination, retaliation, termination, and wage & hour claims
- Handling pre-litigation counseling, single-plaintiff litigation, and class/PAGA actions
- Drafting and responding to pleadings, discovery, and substantive motions (including summary judgment/adjudication)
- Preparing mediation briefs, trial documents, and case strategy materials
- Taking and defending depositions and supporting trial preparation and proceedings
- Acting as a trusted advisor to clients with practical, business-focused legal guidance
What We’re Looking For
- Active member of the California Bar (required)
- 3–8 years of experience in California employment litigation
- Strong writing, research, and analytical skills
- Solid academic credentials and demonstrated professional judgment
- Collaborative mindset with strong client-service instincts and a practical approach to problem-solving
