Construction Procurement Specialist

About the Position

We are seeking a Construction Procurement Specialist to join our team and play a key role in keeping construction projects moving efficiently. This position is ideal for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with vendors, purchase orders, materials, and project timelines.

The Procurement Specialist will coordinate the purchasing of construction materials, supplies, and services while working closely with project managers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure materials are available when needed and costs are managed effectively.

What You'll Do

• Coordinate the procurement of construction materials, equipment, supplies, and services.
• Review project requirements and determine purchasing needs based on schedules and specifications.
• Request and evaluate vendor quotes to ensure competitive pricing and availability.
• Prepare, issue, and track purchase orders.
• Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, availability, lead times, deliveries, and order status.
• Monitor material deliveries and proactively address delays, shortages, or discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, vendor information, purchase orders, and invoices.
• Work closely with project managers and field teams to anticipate upcoming material needs.
• Research and develop relationships with reliable vendors and suppliers.
• Compare pricing and negotiate when appropriate to help control project costs.
• Verify that purchased materials meet project specifications and requirements.
• Assist with resolving invoice, delivery, and purchasing discrepancies.
• Track open orders and provide updates to project and operations teams.
• Maintain organized documentation and ensure purchasing activities are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Perform other procurement and administrative duties as needed.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in procurement, purchasing, materials coordination, or a related field .
• Construction industry experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong organizational and follow-through skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Comfortable communicating with vendors and internal teams.
• Ability to manage multiple orders, priorities, and deadlines.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to review quotes, pricing, purchase orders, and invoices accurately.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating with project teams.
