We're looking for a hands-on Senior DevOps engineer to own the cloud infrastructure, delivery pipelines, and operational reliability behind a production data platform. This is a build-and-run role with real end-to-end accountability - design it, automate it, deploy it, monitor it, and improve it. No purely advisory work here.


Year one is an integration and consolidation play - inheriting imperfect systems, making production safe and observable, then modernizing deliberately. After that, you own the forward platform roadmap.


What you'll do

• Own the AWS environment end-to-end across production, QA, and shared services - IAM, networking, EKS/ECS/Lambda, S3, logging, and billing
• Lead right-sizing and re-architecture of a large EC2 footprint toward managed services and appropriate purchase models
• Build and maintain infrastructure as code (Terraform preferred) for reproducible, reviewable environments
• Establish cost visibility through tagging standards, allocation reporting, and anomaly alerting - and drive measurable spend reductions
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or equivalent) from commit through production deployment
• Own package and artifact dependencies (ECR, JFrog, npm, PyPI) so builds are reproducible and not silently dependent on external infrastructure
• Implement observability - metrics, logging, tracing, dashboards, and actionable alerting - so failures are caught before customers see them
• Own the incident-response path: alert routing, on-call rotation, P1/P2 severity definitions, and post-incident review
• Write and test runbooks for critical services so troubleshooting steps are proven, not assumed
• Execute infrastructure consolidation from acquisitions - account transfers, network segmentation, identity migration
• Partner with Data Engineering, Security, and Compliance teams on platform reliability, IAM design, and SOC 2 evidence
• Leverage LLMs to improve productivity across scripting, code review, documentation, and runbook development

What we're looking for

• 5+ years in DevOps, SRE, Cloud Operations, or Platform Engineering with hands-on production infrastructure ownership
• Deep AWS expertise - IAM, VPC/networking, EKS/ECS/Lambda, EC2, RDS, S3, backup/DR, and account strategy
• Strong Terraform proficiency and Kubernetes deployment experience (Helm or equivalent)
• Advanced Linux administration and scripting in Python and/or Bash
• Real on-call and incident-response experience - monitoring as operational response, not dashboard creation
• Solid networking fundamentals - routing, VPN, DNS, certificates, and network segmentation
• Proven ability to stabilize and operate inherited or legacy production systems while modernizing incrementally
• Clear written and verbal communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience

Nice to have

• M&A carve-out, platform migration, or cloud account separation experience
• Data-platform exposure: Snowflake, OpenSearch, dbt, Airflow, Spark, S3 data lakes
• SOC 2 support and control automation experience
• Identity platform experience: Okta, Entra ID, Google Workspace, SSO/MFA rollout
• Experience in a PE-backed or high-growth environment where speed and cost discipline both matter
