Summary

BoujieMana is a full-service restaurant in central San Diego serving both the surrounding neighborhood and the internal TCWGlobal community. The restaurant offers an elevated, yet approachable dining experience focused on quality and hospitality. The space includes a full bar, indoor and outdoor seating, a private VIP room, and a training and event center for up to 120 guests. BoujieMana serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner using high-quality ingredients at a higher-end price point while remaining accessible. With strong evening and weekend traffic and convenient parking, BoujieMana operates as both a neighborhood destination and an event-driven hospitality space. The Banquets Manager is responsible for owning the coordination and operational execution of private events, banquets, large parties, and signature experiences at BoujieMana from initial inquiry through event completion. This role manages event intake, client communication, planning details, proposals and event documentation, while also overseeing setup, staffing, service, breakdown, and day-of coordination to ensure each event runs smoothly and delivers a polished, memorable guest experience.

The Banquets Manager serves as the primary point of ownership throughout the event lifecycle, translating client needs and event plans into successful execution. This role is ideal for a hands-on hospitality leader who is highly organized, communicates clearly, follows through on details, remains calm under pressure, and knows how to lead teams through fast-paced, high-touch events.

What You'll Do

·      Respond to new event inquiries, speak with prospective guests, and schedule tours as needed.

·      Prepare and send proposals, collect deposits, and confirm bookings.

·      Serve as the primary guest contact throughout planning; coordinating event details, banquet event orders, timelines, menus, guest counts, floorplans, guest requests, and service expectations before each event.

·      Lead the day-of execution of private events, banquets, large parties, and special experiences from setup through breakdown.

·      Coordinate closely with the culinary team, bar team, restaurant team, and outside vendors to ensure alignment.

·      Build event staffing plans and assign responsibilities based on event size, format, timing, and service needs.

·      Lead pre-event meetings and ensure banquet staff understand the timeline, menu, service standards, and guest expectations.

·      Supervise banquet servers, bartenders, support staff, and other team members during events.

·      Ensure event spaces are properly set, clean, organized, and guest-ready, including tables, chairs, linens, service stations, signage, and event materials.

·      Maintain a visible presence throughout events and resolve service issues, guest requests, timing concerns, and operational challenges quickly and professionally.

·      Monitor food and beverage service to ensure quality, presentation, timing, and consistency.

·      Oversee event breakdown, cleanup, inventory return, and proper reset of event spaces.

·      Track event supplies, equipment, and service materials and communicate replenishment or maintenance needs.

·      Support hiring, training, coaching, and performance management for event staff.

·      Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, alcohol service, wage and hour, and company policies.

·      Complete post-event notes and communicate feedback, issues, and opportunities for improvement to restaurant and events leadership.

·      Help establish consistent banquet procedures, service standards, checklists, and team routines that improve execution and the guest experience.

What You Bring

·      3+ years of banquet, catering, restaurant events, hotel events, or hospitality operations experience.

·      Previous experience leading banquet teams, event staff, or high-volume restaurant service.

·      Strong understanding of event setup, food and beverage service, staffing, timelines, and guest experience.

·      Ability to read and execute banquet event orders, floorplans, service notes, and event timelines.

·      Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

·      Ability to remain composed and make sound decisions in a fast-paced event environment.

·      Hands-on leadership style with a willingness to step in wherever needed.

·      Experience with POS, scheduling, event management, reservation, or reporting systems preferred.

·      Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and event-based schedules.
