Controller / Senior Accountant
$30 per hourTemporary
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Controller/Senior Accountant in Rockville, MD. Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements and management reports
- Manage budgeting, cash flow, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, nonprofit reporting requirements, and internal policies
- Coordinate the annual audit and preparation of required tax and regulatory filings
- Maintain effective financial controls and accounting procedures
- Partner with leadership and program teams to support financial planning and decision-making
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience; Nonprofit experience preferred
- Experience with budgeting, audits, and financial controls
- Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Excel or similar tools
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting; nonprofit accounting experience a plus
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail
