Patient Care Associate - South 3 Primary Responsibilities Assists with activities of daily living such as hygiene, nutrition, elimination, mobility, comfort, and safety. Monitors and documents vital signs, patient weights, intake/output, and other data. Completes patient treatments as directed, and assists healthcare professionals with more complex treatments. Performs phlebotomy and EKGs, applies Holter monitors, and performs glucometry. Collects and labels specimens. Answers patient call lights and ensures resolution of patient issues. Transports discharged patients. Participates in patient care rounds. Provides one-to-one observation of patients as needed. Participates in conferences and educational programs as appropriate. Maintains BCLS certification and attends annual Safety Education Fair. Maintains unit competencies. Required Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent. Ability to read and write at level 8, as documented on \"Invest,\" the hospital's Employee Learning Laboratory software. Good oral communication skills to ensure the accurate transfer of information, and strong interpersonal skills to facilitate courteous interaction with patients, visitors, and other hospital staff members. Pay Range $20.00 - $26.92 per hour. The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
