Production Supervisor

Production Supervisor - CNC Machining
Fort Wayne, IN
Direct-Hire, Full-Time
Hours: Day shift
Compensation: Base Salary + Bonus + Profit Sharing + Full Benefits

Key Responsibilities

Supervise day-to-day machining and production activities across assigned shifts, ensuring optimal utilization of people and equipment.
Oversee a team of CNC and manual machinists, providing direction, coaching, and technical support as needed.
Manage workflow in a high-mix, low-volume job shop environment, prioritizing customer orders and meeting delivery schedules.
Ensure all safety, quality, and productivity standards are achieved and sustained.
Monitor job progress, part quality, and adherence to machining specifications and tolerances.
Coordinate with engineering and planning to resolve technical or scheduling issues.
Support setup optimization, tooling selection, and process improvements to reduce downtime and waste.
Maintain accurate production reporting, time tracking, and shop documentation.
Enforce company policies, maintain a clean and organized work area, and promote a culture of safety and accountability.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean, 5S, and preventive maintenance efforts.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred.
3-5+ years of experience in machining, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
Strong working knowledge of CNC machining processes, setups, tooling, and inspection.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and work instructions.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and develop team members.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Proficient with ERP/MRP systems and basic computer applications.
Familiarity with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices preferred.
