RESPIRATORY THERAPIST

Job Summary Assists in the treatment and management of patients with clinical needs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provides instruction to patients and/or caregivers on the proper use of equipment and respiratory care procedures. Ensures patients and/or caregivers can effectively operate and maintain equipment; performs clinical assessments and tests such as pulse oximetry, ETCO₂, spirometry, and vital signs. Conducts routine patient follow‑up contacts based on individual needs. May need to perform on‑call duties when required. Operates various types of respiratory care equipment including oxygen therapy, nebulization, apnea monitoring, suctioning, PAP, and invasive/non‑invasive ventilation. Inspects and tests equipment to ensure proper operating condition. Prepares and maintains a record for each patient containing care plans, physician prescriptions, and follow‑up documentation. Enters accurate data on monitoring websites for certain respiratory equipment. Consults with referring physicians regarding patient treatment and plan of care. Participates in ongoing education and training sessions regarding respiratory patient care. Assists with patient scheduling as needed. Performs other duties as required. Minimum Required Qualifications Background check meets company standards. Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program. Valid driver’s license and auto insurance; must drive personal vehicle for patient home visits. Registration or certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). Current State RCP license if required. Current CPR certification. All applicable licensure in good standing for all states of practice. Preferred Qualifications At least one year of related experience. Bilingual (reading, writing, verbal). Physical Demands Hands‑on work with equipment up to 50 lb, travel by plane and automobile, and exposure to dust, fumes, and varying weather conditions. Use of protective equipment is required. Work Environment Employees operate motor vehicles during the day and night under varying conditions, work in environments ranging from low to high noise, and may encounter dust, chemicals, and cryogenic fluids. Protective equipment and safe work practices are mandatory.
