Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) Travel Nurse Job – 13-Week Contract in Amarillo, Texas

Join a fast-paced Emergency Department in Amarillo, Texas, as an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) on a 13-week travel nursing assignment. Emergency RN Travel Job Details

• Location: Amarillo, Texas 79106
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: November 9, 2026
• End Date: February 8, 2027
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,550–$1,630
• Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.
• Schedule: 36- or 48-hour option; weekends required
• Openings: 3
• Emergency Department: 49 beds with approximately 165 daily visits
• Charting: Epic
• Orientation: Approximately 20 hours
• Travel Requirement: Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the assignment location; local candidates are not eligible.

Emergency Room RN Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or a compact license in hand at the time of submission
• At least 1 year of recent Emergency Department or Emergency Room RN experience
• Current ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications
• Current PALS or NRP certification
• Experience documenting in Epic or a comparable electronic health record
• Ability to care for adolescents, infants, adults, pediatric patients, and geriatric patients
• Availability to float to units of equal or lesser acuity, with possible ICU floating
• Ability to complete required onboarding items and laboratory requirements within 48 hours of contract signing

Emergency Department RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, timely, and compassionate emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population.
• Perform emergency assessments, triage, ongoing monitoring, and reassessments based on patient acuity.
• Care for patients requiring ventilatory support, central line management, isolation precautions, and dysrhythmia management.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams.
• Administer medications and treatments, assist with emergency procedures, and accurately document care in Epic.
• Support efficient patient flow in a high-volume Emergency Department.
• Float to appropriate units as needed while maintaining quality and safety standards.
• Participate in weekend coverage and contribute to a collaborative, patient-focused team environment.
