Job Description
Textiles from Europe, Inc. d/b/a Victoria Classics (VCNY) has opening for Designer in North Bergen, NJ. Responsible for the creative design of Home Textiles products (Bedding, Window, Bath, Table, etc.), for a variety of retailers ranging from Mass Market to Fashion Market. Execute-from concept to finish-all designs by working with design support teams, including Sales, Merchandising and Production teams. Create original woven designs based on seasonal concepts/ trends. Develop original designs into production for all home categories. Collaborate with Sales, Merchandising, and Production teams to meet requirements. Assist in creating presentations and trend boards. Review factory samples for pattern, color, repeat, and construction. Assist the Technical Design team in preparing instructions for creating technical specs. Must have Bachelor’s or foreign degree equivalent in Textile Design or related and 36 months of experience as Textile Designer or related, including 36 months of experience with fabric construction, such as jacquard and/or embroidery; 36 months of experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or Ned Graphics; 36 months of experience with home textiles product design and creating professional tech pack; 36 months of experience with planning and designing products for Market Week Exhibitions; and 36 months of experience in home textiles trends and market research and analysis.
