About the Position

Brown Medicine is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible General Nephrologist with a strong interest in academic medicine and clinical research to join our established team of academic nephrologists in Providence, Rhode Island. This full-time position is on the Clinician Educator Track at Brown University and offers an outstanding opportunity to combine clinical practice, teaching, mentorship, and scholarly activity within a nationally recognized academic environment.

Inpatient responsibilities are shared among faculty

• Rhode Island Hospital
• The Miriam Hospital consult service
• VA Medical Center nephrology consult service
• Kent Hospital nephrology coverage

Outpatient Responsibilities

• Approximately 2–4 outpatient sessions per week.
• Home Hemodialysis
• Peritoneal Dialysis
• Glomerulonephritis
• Other specialized nephrology services
• Approximately 1–3 outpatient dialysis coverage shifts.

Call Schedule

• Overnight call coverage is shared among faculty.
• Approximately 8 weekend calls per year, supporting an excellent balance between clinical responsibilities and personal time.

Compensation & Benefits

• Competitive base salary: $180,000–$260,000, based on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree.
• Completion of an accredited Nephrology Fellowship.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Nephrology.
• Eligible for medical licensure in Rhode Island.
• Strong interest in academic medicine, teaching, and mentoring.
