Part-time Teller

Job Summary Be a problem solver, trusted advisor, and partner to the people and businesses in our KeyBank communities. As a Teller, you provide excellent client service in person by welcoming both new and existing clients to the Bank and assisting them with their account transactions and servicing needs, including identifying and resolving client servicing issues. Through conversations with clients you uncover financial needs and transition them to a banker for deeper financial wellness conversations. You help clients achieve their financial goals using financial wellness tools. Essential Functions Embodies a strong client experience culture and is present with every client and teammate. Assumes responsibility for the efficient, effective, and accurate performance of teller functions in an in‑person branch setting. Proactively identify and resolve client servicing issues, escalating as needed. Listen for clues for financial wellness opportunities during client conversations, and appropriately transition clients to a banker. Assist clients in achieving their financial goals and objectives through the use of financial wellness tools. Attend and participate in in‑person morning huddles and end‑of‑day debriefs. Follow compliance, audit and security procedures; balance cash drawer within guidelines. Review and maintain knowledge of product guides, fees and policies to stay current on offerings. Work on Saturdays as directed by management. Perform other duties as assigned with or without notice. Comply with all KeyBank policies and procedures, acting professionally at all times and in the best interests of Key’s clients. Education High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent business experience (required). Experience Experience in a client service role (required). Experience in cash handling (required). General understanding of PC with Windows based applications and calculator (required). Licenses and Certifications Notary License (preferred). Skills Knowledgeable about clients’ accounts and business with the bank; uses sound judgment with clients and transactions. Exhibits strong sales and service skills, presenting products and services while proactively educating clients on available access channels. Strong work ethic and high level of integrity. Excellent time management skills. Manages and maintains client accounts, ensuring accuracy and security. Assists clients with updating account information and ensuring all transactions are processed correctly. Educates clients on managing their finances effectively and promotes financial health. Identifies opportunities to discuss budgeting, saving and planning for the future. Accurately and securely processes cash transactions, including deposits, withdrawals and balancing cash drawers. Ensures accuracy in transactions and maintains organized records. Identifies and resolves client servicing issues efficiently. Follows banking regulations and security procedures. Identifies financial needs and promotes relevant banking products and services. Uses techniques to detect and prevent fraudulent activities. Physical Demands Consumer Retail – prolonged standing (5–8 hours per day); frequent use of hands to manipulate or grasp objects; ability to communicate face-to-face and on the phone with clients; occasional bending and lifting from floor height; frequent forward reach; frequent lifting of 1–10 lbs.; occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs. Driving Requirements Occasionally operate a motor vehicle with a valid driver's license. Work Location Category Branch Compensation and Benefits This position is eligible to earn a base hourly rate in the range of $18.00 to $23.08 per hour. Placement within the pay range may differ based on skills, experience and geographic location. Compensation also includes incentive compensation that may include production, commission and/or discretionary incentives.
