About the Role
The Company is seeking a Dean for its Law School, which is dedicated to a dual mission of educating lawyers in the service of human needs and transforming legal education to be inclusive of historically marginalized and oppressed communities. The successful candidate will be a mission-oriented, engaged, and highly collaborative leader with a deep commitment to social justice and the public interest. This role involves leading a nationally and internationally recognized institution in experiential legal education, with a focus on social justice lawyering and a strong partnership with local and community-based organizations. The Dean will be responsible for articulating and implementing a compelling, mission-driven vision that aligns the Law School's academic, operational, and community-facing work within a complex economic, political, and regulatory environment. Applicants for the Dean position at the company's Law School should be familiar with the impact of local, state, and federal government, non-profit organizations, and community-based institutions on legal education and the practice of law. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of fostering trust, shared purpose, and academic excellence, and will be expected to represent the Law School with confidence and strength. The Dean will also be responsible for setting clear expectations for collaboration, mutual respect, and transparency, and for advancing the institution's mission with integrity and conviction. A strong background in social justice, a commitment to diversity and inclusion, and experience in a leadership role within an academic or legal setting are essential.
