Accountant PositionMaverick Golf and Ranch Club is seeking a full-time, year-round Accountant to join the Finance and Accounting department.Job Summary:The Accountant is an essential member of the Finance and Accounting team and is responsible for overseeing Development expenditures, reconciliations, and data keeping, but is not limited to all aspects of accounting at the Development. The Staff Accountant will partner with the Development Controller, Project Leadership, and the Corporate Finance and Accounting Team. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a structured accounting environment, enjoys digging into the details, and wants long-term career stability with a well-established operation.Duties & Responsibilities:Perform month-end close activities such as journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations in accordance with the close schedule.Prepare schedules and documentation for annual external audits and internal reviewsSupport internal control processes and help maintain policy adherenceCollaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues and improve reporting accuracyTake on special projects and ad hoc reporting as neededSkills & Qualifications:Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or University in Accounting is required.Minimum of 3 years of experience working in Construction, or Land/Real Estate Development industry is required.Prior experience with Sage Intacct is preferred.Must have a strong analytical approach and a willingness to problem-solve as issues arise.Must have a high attention to detail and accuracy.Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.Ability to work collaboratively within a close-knit accounting team.Intermediate Excel skills (comfortable with functions, lookups, and multi-sheet workbooks).Solid organizational skills and the ability to balance ongoing tasks with deadlines.Additional Requirements:Flexibility and ability to pivot to new projects and desire to work in fast-paced environment.Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.Ability to work in a team environment.Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
