Line Sanitation | Sanitation | Nights | $16.25 + $1.50 Shift Diff

Summary Responsible for the removal of waste to designated bins, maintaining the production line and area in a clean environment, supplying the production areas with the appropriate waste removal equipment (trash cans, luggers, etc.) and routinely cleaning the equipment and floor with appropriate designated chemicals and equipment. Must ensure GMPs, PPE, and safety regulations are followed at all times. Understands and demonstrates changeover and sanitation requirements. Follows all good housekeeping practices, sanitation SOPs and adheres to USDA guidelines for food/sanitation. Operates compactors (inedible and corrugated) and understands Hog Farmer, Inedible bin requirements. May operate pallet jack. Requirement Understands the safety importance during cleaning; equipment has moving parts and must ensure safety and quality always come first. Does not stick or place any part of the body into any moving part of the equipment. Must adhere to proper operating sanitation procedures. Must understand that chemicals are used to clean/sanitize, the proper use and storage of chemicals and PPE involved. Qualifications Must be able to communicate; benefit if reading and writing English (bilingual preferred). Stand, reach, and climb steps or stairs occasionally; lift up to 50 lbs. frequently. Works well with others; ability to meet required demands on work quality to support production line and areas. Works with minimum supervision. Understands and can demonstrate workable knowledge of chemical usage/cleaning. Evaluation of performance will take place within the first 100 hours of beginning the job. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the team member works around moving machinery, is exposed to hot, cold, refrigerated areas, loud noise, and wet floors, which may become slippery. The team member must be aware of their surroundings. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Ensure product on the floor is squeegee/scooped and placed in appropriate disposal bin; the line sanitizer avoids placing food products, gloves, wraps, and any other articles down the drain. Ensure drain covers are in place. Conduct daily operational cleaning, including rinsing of lines between breaks and lunches, as well as activities deemed necessary to avoid cross contamination. Use water in cleaning to minimize overspray and possible cross contamination; ensure all motors, electrical panels, and plugs are properly covered. Ensure equipment is properly disassembled/assembled for cleaning; ensure all parts remain with the equipment and are stored properly. Store hoses properly after use. Follow and perform lock out/tag out procedures. Follow GMPs and adhere to USDA guidelines for food/sanitary guidelines. Operate equipment controls, report any malfunctions or potential hazards to supervisor; maintain a clean environment around machinery at all times. Ensure all sanitation equipment is properly cleaned and stored. Perform other duties as assigned by lead or supervisor. Report to work station properly dressed with correct PPE on time. Meeting exit criteria for a trainee when all requirements have been met and verified by trainer. Other duties may be assigned as needed. Documentation and Procedures Safety rules and GMPs in area. Chemical products/MSDS; safety training, chemical foaming/power washer guides. SSOPs on equipment cleaning and sanitation personal protective equipment. Equipment Desirable knowledge, skills, and abilities: Read and demonstrate understanding of cleaning chemicals used in their job role. Understand they will be required to help out on other lines and areas as sanitation activities are required. Documents and Procedures Safety rules, GMPs, chemical usage, lockout/tagout. Plant sanitary standards and SOPs. Production personal protective equipment - PPE. Physical Demands and Work Environment Must be able to travel throughout production areas. Office and factory environment, including refrigerated warehouses. Must be able to push, pull, and lift occasional heavy loads (50 lbs.). Must be able to work flexible hours based on needs of operation. Must be able to operate power washers for cleaning if required.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The starting rate for this full‑time, hourly position is $16.25 plus $1.50 shift differential. Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job‑related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation.
