Mid-Market Sales Engineer - US North East

Mid-Market Sales Engineer – US North East Remote – United States. Must be located in the Eastern Time Zone within 2 hours of an airport and able to travel to customer locations 25% of the time. No relocation assistance provided. About the Role As a Sales Engineer at Samsara, you will help modernize essential industries through our connected operations platform. Your day‑to‑day work will involve consulting with prospects, installing IoT hardware, managing data collection, and building integrations with our cloud service. Key Responsibilities Become an expert on Samsara products and articulate how they solve industry challenges. Deliver discovery, demonstration, and value assessment activities that move deals forward. Guide installers through best practices for product installation and deployment planning. Write and document scripts against Samsara’s open API for real‑world use cases. Identify upsell, cross‑sell, and integration opportunities and act as a consultant to customers. Act as a liaison between product and sales teams, translating technical feedback and supporting beta programs. Champion Samsara’s values and operating principles across accounts and regions. Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s of Science from an accredited 4‑year university. 2+ years of experience in pre‑sales, customer success, or support roles. Ability to influence stakeholders with technical sales acumen and business process insight. Skill in explaining complex technical concepts to non‑technical audiences. Experience managing hardware and/or software product evaluations. Basic understanding of electronics and electrical systems. Familiarity with technical consulting, cloud software, cloud‑connected hardware, networking, business systems integration, automation, and control systems. Preferred Qualifications Advanced education or degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline. Understanding of vehicle diagnostic systems (CAN bus, PTO applications). Hobbyist interest in electronic projects (e.g., car audio, home automation, Raspberry Pi, Arduino). Track record of selling complex technical solutions through strategic sales cycles. Salary Range
$95,795 – $144,900 USD
